With the holiday season just around the corner, style guides and fashionistas alike have turned their attentions to identifying the perfect cocktail-party-approved outfits. But according to this Vogue article, finding the perfect outfit to wear at the office is just as tricky as finding one for the company Christmas party.

Here are our suggestions for outfits that we hope will help you take your wardrobe from working stiff to posh professional!

Outfit #1, The Power Suit:

Consisting of crisp lines, structured designs, and bold fabrics, the new suit is anything but boring.

Pair this form fitting skirt with a printed blouse, or with a neutral blazer.

For a more classic look that is still eye catching, add a pop of color to your work wardrobe. This mustard yellow blazer by Carven looks amazing with black or navy. The Cobra Society over-sized clutch complements the relaxed fit of the blazer, and adds a more structured element to the outfit.

Outfit #2, The Boardroom Dress:

The key to a great work dress is simplicity. Look for something that is flattering, and fuss free, while still being chic.

This wool jersey and taffeta dress can be worn to the office, with a blazer over top, or out for drinks after work.

This 3.1 Phillip Lim woven dress is great over a pair of thick tights
