The 1960s was a decade of social revolution, experimentation, and eclectic fashion. With so much going on it’s hardly shocking that the iconic fashion trends of this era are re-visited again, and again as inspiration for current collections.

From mini skirts, to shift dresses, wide legged trousers, and patent leather -many designers this season have given significant nods to the past in their collections. Here are some of our favorite 60s inspired pieces

Through the sea of skinny jeans, wide leg trousers are slowly pushing toward the fashion fore. Casual, yet elegant, these pants make great additions to your office wardrobe -after all, one cannot live in skirts and skinny jeans alone.

Shift dresses are great wardrobe staples, they’re easy throw-on-and-go pieces and suit a number of different body types. This green shift from Tibi looks great with black tights and a pair of ankle boots.

This Navy mini-dress from Carven is the perfect balance between structured mod and free spirit (see next picture).

The peek-a-boo back panel adds a hint of psychedelia to this dress and makes it one of our absolute favorite pieces this season!

Crop, Shiny, Leather. The length offers a very 60s feel while the color and fabric (the most amazing “crinkled” patent leather) pull from the 80s. Killer combination from Angélique Chmielewski.
