We just got back from Part 1 of our Fall/Winter 2013 market tour. New York is always our first stop and is starting to feel like a home away from home! Here’s a look behind the scenes of the work and play that ensued. We’re off to Paris next week followed by a surprise new addition to our circuit (stay tuned for those posts).
Our first appointment of the trip was with Chitose Abe’s Tokyo based diffusion label, Sacai Luck. We can’t wait to introduce you to this amazing collection! This may be our record for personal orders too . . .
The always perfect Mason by Michelle Mason was a season favorite, as always. That’s Michelle Mason herself in the photo – as lovely as her designs!
First meal of the trip and always a favorite. Sasabune NYC is a must visit for traditional sushi lovers. No frills, nothing fancy, and no choice but to partake in their amazing Omakase. We’re always blown away by every single piece.
Anna making friends at Findings Showroom. Always one of our favorite stops. Stay tuned for this amazing collection from EachXOther. Denim and leather like we’ve never seen!
3.1 Phillip Lim has been one of our favorite collections for the past two seasons. Just when we thought the anticipation for SS13 was too much, we saw FW13. Anticipation is off the charts. Nga doesn’t allow photos of herself but notice we snuck one in here!
It is no surprise Kelly Wearstler is considered the “Jack of all Trades” of the design world. Starting with interiors, then jewelry, and now clothing! You’ll see her jewelry line at Coup in the fall and will LOVE it.
People always say Anna doesn’t show much expression / emotion. This pony hair blazer was her favorite piece of the season. She is thrilled!
Angélique Chmielewski is our favorite rising star designer. She invited us to her showroom in Brooklyn to show us her amazing collection! Anna is thrilled again by this blazer & the unreal varsity jackets for FW13.
Visiting NY always means visiting the lovely Miranda from Millicent Designs (visiting/bombarding her for new jewelry as shown at bottom right). We went to her neck of the woods (Brooklyn) this time for some very delicious food and drink! Our itinerary this time: Reynards at the Wythe Hotel, Hotel Delmano, Five Leaves, and Marlow & Sons (middle right – where Miranda was traumatized by a snail).
For you Raw/Vegan enthusiasts: We recommend Pure Food & Wine in Gramercy. All the satisfaction with none of the guilt. (Thanks for the recommendation, Lisa Holowaychuk!). Also – the other photo Anna was able to sneak of Nga.
Hope you enjoyed this sampling of our Buyer’s Diary! Stay tuned for Paris next week . . .
