Buyer’s Diary | Paris for SS14
Anna traveled to Paris a few weeks ago during SS14 Fashion Week and, as always, it was an incredible and inspiring trip . It was apparent, in all of the collections, that Spring will bring a plethora of exciting trends – some new, some revisited, and some favorites recurring. We’ve put together a little photo diary of her trip and a few of the highlights. Hope you Enjoy.
Viewing Japanese collection, G.V.G.V, in Paris for the first time was definitely the most eventful meeting of the trip! Anna had the pleasure of meeting the designer, Mug, and got to hear firsthand about the vision behind the cult brand and what inspired the SS14 collection. It became clear that G.V.G.V is definitely becoming a line to keep our eyes on when two surprise visitors –Vogue Japan and none other than major fashion icon, Anna Dello Russo– came by the showroom! It was impossible not be be a little fashion-star struck.
This season, long time friend of Coup, Erin Ross, joined Anna in Paris as our Buyer Temp Extraordinaire! Erin had a particular interest in French label EachXOther, which is known for the collaborations they do with international visual artists (Erin happens to be a very talented Artist herself –Check her out here). Anna and Erin attended the EachXOther launch party at the Designer’s Apartment –a beautiful space that showcases the collections fof amazing up and coming French and International designers– where Champagne was in short supply and high demand ; luckily, they managed to always be in the right place at the right time to keep their glasses filled!
While sipping champagne at the Designer’s Apartment, Anna stumbled upon a very exciting new French Designer –Ettienne Deroeux. Ethically made in France with all natural organic fabrics, the collection is stunning in it’s feminine simplicity. Coming to Coup for SS14 . . .
Visiting the Polly King & Co. showroom is always overwhelming – in the best possible way. They do an amazing job of curating the best, most coveted yet still under-the-radar designers. Every season, Anna goes in to see a couple of our current brands and always leaves with a few new ones to add! They are impossible to resist. This season, Anna saw (and loved) Coup favorites, Sophie Hulme & Zoë Jordan; and fell in love with Timo Weiland –a new addition to our SS14 store line up! Get very excited!
We love buying Calla because she is always perfectly off-trend. Her collections go against the often-overlapping seasonal trends but always remain relevant. We cannot wait to wear this collection. See below Anna’s favorite outfit from the collection and a few snaps from the showroom.

Never a dull moment at Hotel Costes – a Parisian institution and a great scene during Fashion Week. The snails were delicious!
