Bold prints. Classic cuts. Tactile fabrics that beg to be touched. These are the hallmarks of Canadian-designer-by-way-of-Paris, Calla Haynes.
Born in Toronto, Haynes has been living in Paris for the past ten years, where her namesake label CALLA was born. After having attended the Parsons Schools of Design in New York and Paris, her background includes stints with Olivier Theyskens at Rochas and Nina Ricci,
As a textile consultant for labels around the world, and known primarily for the way in which she incorporates pattern into her work, it is no wonder she describes the CALLA woman as, ‘a creative type [who] is attracted to color and print. They have fun with clothing and self-expression but don’t take it all too seriously. They have a sense of humor and a sense of whimsy.’
Produced entirely in Europe, CALLA is committed to high quality manufacturing standards, and manufacturing that is done close to home.
